Color-coded by category, sized by significance and shaded by timeliness, it's a very efficient and creative (if somewhat crowded) way to organize a whole lot of information. Very much reminds me of this similar approach to the stock market (which my father pointed out to me a few years ago).

Neither of them are necessarily the easiest to browse through, but they're both very useful if you want to get the big picture and focus in on some details from there.
